Extinction Insurrection protestors shocked conference-goers at Africa Oil Week for a 2d time this week. At midday on Friday, 5 protestors started putting an enormous banner on the Cape The town Global Town Centre (CTICC) with “Africa oil week Local weather Criminals Convention” and showing the Extinction Insurrection brand.

Seven women and men, dubbed the “Purple Brigade”, wearing vibrant pink gowns and dressed in white face paint, walked silently and took up poses across the CTICC.

Consistent with one nameless protestor, the pink symbolised the typical blood of all people.

“There are weather criminals making offers at the back of closed doorways that put our futures in danger and we really feel this is our accountability to rise up for all existence on Earth,” stated some other protester, 21-year-old protestor Shannon Goodman.
