There is cheap, and then there is the ludicrously cheap 7artisans 35mm f/1.4 lens. With such a low price tag, can it begin to compete with its many more expensive counterparts in the crowded 35mm market? This great video review takes a look at this interesting lens to answer that exact question.
Coming to you from Wes Perry, this awesome video review takes a look at the 7artisans 35mm f/1.4 lens for Sony mirrorless cameras. This lens is ridiculously cheap, coming in at only $199 brand new, far below even the closest third party competitors and light years away from any first party options. As such, it is a very intriguing option if you need an extra lens to take into less-than-stellar situations where it might get banged up a bit or even if you just want a cheap, wide aperture 35mm lens to cover the situations where you need that focal length or light-gathering ability. The first thing to note is that this lens in manual focus only, but with Sony’s assistance features, that’s not as bad as you think. Second, its image quality won’t rival that of other options costing up to 10 times as much, but you might be surprised at how decent it is for the price. Check out the video above to hear Perry’s full thoughts.
