Lennon’s ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’ piano bought to Colts’ Irsay

INDIANAPOLIS — An upright piano that John Lennon used to put in writing Beatles’ songs has been bought at public sale to Jim Irsay. Simply “A Day within the Existence” of the landlord of the Indianapolis Colts.

Irsay tweeted Saturday that he is “elated” to now personal the device Lennon used to compose songs for The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Membership Band” album.

In line with TMZ Sports activities, Irsay paid $718,750 for the piano.

The Indianapolis Superstar experiences the piano, made within the 1870s, was once auctioned at the website online GottaHaveRockandRoll.com. The website online opened the bidding at $575,000 and estimated it will promote for between $800,000 and $1.2 million.
